A downloadable game

What is Sap: School Days?

Sap: School Days (S:SD) is the free prototype for an upcoming game simply named Sap. While Sap promises to be a very simulated and highly combinatorial world, S:SD is a proof of concept, and as such, it is very much stripped down.

By strategically placing objects and creatures on a small grid, both versions of the game encourage the player to explore the strange little world. Many of these tiles will interact with their surroundings, moving, destroying, or even creating new ones.

This is both a landing page and a development log for S:SD, reflecting its design over the past few months. I will post here more infrequently now that the game is released, though there will be a major content update in the near future.

Oooooh you're doing a card game ! I can't wait to see this ! And it's surreal and abstract !!

I like the idea you describe here, a virtual card board game where the player both explore and influences the environment if I understand correctly ?

Hope it'll go well, I'll follow the dev if you put devlogs here.

It's the final project for my bachelors, so I'm really very excited to work on it.  They've afforded me an incredible amount of agency to work on what I want.  Unlike usual where I got radio-silent for long stretches of time, I have to keep this page updated with my work consistently!

Yeah, you've got the idea right.  It's mostly about exploring the cards you're dealt and learning how they work and react to others.  It forms a little ecosystem on your board, and you have to prevent it from collapsing.

Thanks for already responding!  I'm still waiting on this TTRPG you're working on!  Any news?

I honestly feel like the idea can be very fun, really looking forward to it ! I'm glad to know you'll update the infos on it often too !

Don't worry I have not forgot you for the TTRPG ! In fact, it's almost complete.  We've made our first session with friends as a test,  I need to rewrite some things and add a bit of content, but the first version is nearly there. Depending of work, I think I can actually finish it this month.
